Inclusion, Diversity & Equity

We are driven by a shared purpose – Life Unlimited – and a culture of care, courage and collaboration.

Having an inclusive workplace that drives diversity and equity is important to our Smith+Nephew culture and the way in which we work, and it is imperative to our business success.

Covering a broad spectrum of diversity, our Employee Inclusion Groups (EIGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with our purpose, culture pillars, sense of belonging and business objectives.

As an employee, you will have the opportunity to join any of our EIGs. Our existing EIGs cover:

  • Race and ethnicity (Unity)
  • Mental health and wellbeing (Care)
  • Gender (GAIN, SWE, HERIZON, WIN)
  • Smith+Nephew Young Professionals (SNYP)
  • LGBTQ+ (Pride)
  • Veterans (Veterans Unlimited)

As part of our overarching people strategy, we aim to attract, develop, accelerate and retain diverse talent. At the same time, we're focused on operationalising inclusion, diversity and equity across our organisation by nurturing an inclusive and equitable culture - one that has belonging at its core. This is so that our employees can thrive and achieve their full potential, while contributing to Smith+Nephew's continuous growth.

Recruitment Fraud Warning

It has come to our attention that candidates have been contacted through job sites such as Indeed and Career Builder, by people impersonating Smith+Nephew recruiters.

Please note that we will only ever contact you through an email address from the domain and we do not interview via apps such as Trillian or Ring Central.

If you are concerned by any correspondence you receive claiming to be from Smith+Nephew, please contact us on
