Non healing wounds: How much do you know about them?
This transformative experience delved into the complex world of hard-to-heal wounds, exploring the importance of prevention, the art of wound bed preparation and the implementation of T.I.M.E. principles.
With the objectives identifying and understand the problems of hard-to-heal wounds and sharing current treatment approaches, the session explored:
- The definition of different aetiologies, including epidemiology and human/economic impact
- Patient conversation guidelines for shared care
- Using the T.I.M.E. 2.0 framework and guidance for infection management
- Step-up care with single-use NPWT and step-down care focused on the importance of dressing changes
Beyond the Surface: Advancing Chronic Wound Assessment and Treatment
Through a unique 3D perspective (complete with our special 3D glasses!), attendees were guided through a comprehensive clinical journey that shined a light on how we identify and treat wounds that haven't progressed in 6-8 weeks.
Emphasising three critical dimensions of wound care:
- Looking beyond one clinic visit to understand the full impact on patients' lives
- Looking beyond the wound bed to comprehend the underlying physiology of 6-8 week wounds
- Looking to utilise active therapy for kickstarting the healing process
The session explored a clinical pathway focused on a patient-centered approach with three interconnected phases: Centering the patient in a systematic evaluation, assessment the wound with T.I.M.E. framework and treating the wound with active intervention.

This year, EWMA was a unique opportunity to be among the first to explore the possibilities with the RENASYS◊ EDGE System.
Dr Leticia Vallejo (President and Professor, Wound Care Plus Research and Education Center, San Juan, P.R.) shared valuable clinical insights and real-world cases using the new RENASYS EDGE Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) system.
Dive deeper into her experience with our downloadable white paper featuring a comprehensive collection of her case studies.
Patient-centric approach to chronic wound management
Chronic wound prevalence is growing, with clinicians facing increased expectations and more patients treated by non-specialists. When inconsistency and limited specialist involvement may delay healing, there’s a need to structure and simplify clinical practice1-3
T.I.M.E. CDST offers holistic wound and patient assessment, facilitating multidisciplinary team involvement to promote systematic consistency and confidence for even non-specialist clinicians.
Because you and your team are so busy you need to use foam dressings you can rely on
Release time, waste less and improve lives… it’s possible4-9
ALLEVYN◊ LIFE Dressings empower patients and help lives to be lived3,10 by making it easier for them to be confidently involved in their own care while easing the worry of leakage.3,10,11
Get non-healing wounds back on track with PICO◊ sNPWT
For complex chronic wounds, time isn’t always the greatest healer. Get back on track when wounds fail to progress, using PICO◊ Single Use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, with AIRLOCK◊ technology as an active therapy to help stimulate the healing process in non-healing wounds.12
Discover a new era of innovation with RENASYS◊ EDGE tNPWT
RENASYS EDGE tNPWT: the latest evolution in tNPWT features an intuitive user interface for enhanced simplicity.13 The durable pump includes self-test functionality, designed to give confidence in device performance.14
