Dr Ritesh Shah (US) discusses his own experience on the current trends and advantages of outpatient programmes, including how refined techniques, medication and anaesthesia, with physical therapy, can help early mobilisation and predictability of outcomes. Dr Shah offers patient examples and tips on starting an outpatient programme, concluding with first-year results. Dr Shah is Chairman of the Centers of Excellence, Illinois Bone and Joint Institute.
