The Effects of NPWT

RENASYS NPWT

The evidence for both the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of NPWT is strong. By accelerating healing and reducing complications post-surgery, it can cut costs now and in the future, at the same time as optimising patient wellbeing. 1,6,7

You can use NPWT with confidence to:

  • protect an incision to reduce complications post-surgery
  • stabilise traumatic wounds
  • bolster skin grafts
  • prevent and treat wound dehiscence
  • progress non-healing wounds
  • manage highly exuding wounds

Indications

RENASYS GO is indicated for patients who would benefit from a suction device (negative pressure) to help promote wound healing by removing fluids including irrigation and body fluids, wound exudates and infectious materials.

Examples of appropriate wound types include:

  • Chronic
  • Acute
  • Traumatic
  • Sub-Acute and dehisced wounds
  • Ulcers (such as pressure or diabetic)
  • Partial-thickness burns
  • Flaps and grafts

Contraindications

  • Untreated osteomyelitis
  • Presence of necrotic tissue with eschar
  • Exposed organs, blood vessels or nerves
  • Malignancy in the wound bed (Except palliative care)
  • Non-enteric or unexplored fistulae
  • Anastomotic sites

Precautions

  • Anticoagulation therapy
  • Difficult wound haemostasis
  • Non-concordant/combative patients
  • Untreated malnutrition
  • Wound close to blood vessels or delicate fascia
