In this video, Dr Thomas Wuerz discusses what the chondrolabral junction is, the anatomy and function of this area, and how important the femoral head acetabular suction seal is for function and mechanics.


On his summary slide, he states that the goal of surgery should be to preserve the native biology of the junction and therefore the suction seal. Cartilage flaps have a high degree of cellular visibility and Dr Wuerz believes that should be incorporated in future innovation of chondral and labral repair.
