In this video, Dr Marc Phillipon discusses labral augmentation and labral reconstruction and presents clinical outcome study data.
On his conclusion slide, he states that arthroscopic treatment started with debridement, and that repairs have evolved as technology has evolved. As the need for revision arthroplasty increases, so does the need for augmenting or replacing the labral tissue. The goal of reconstructive labrum surgery is to restore the labrum seal and improve function of the chondrolabral junction.
