Video Information

In this recorded webinar, Professor Gregory Schultz, Professor Thomas Bjarnsholt and Dr Randall Wolcott present the science behind biofilms in wounds and how to understand their clinical implication and impact on chronic wounds. They present evidence on the percentage of chronic wounds that have biofilms and their impact on delayed healing of those wounds. They also discuss how a biofilm presents itself on a wound. Is it visible? Does it cover the whole wound? Lastly, the presenters discuss treatment methods, stating that biofilms are not acute wounds and should be managed and treated differently.
