Video Information

In this video, Prof Peter Giannoudis discusses if early total care is a viable option for traumatic injury patients and presents outcome data to support his opinion. He specifies that orthopedic trauma surgeons have become more aware of the impact of the second hit and the complications of surgery. Additionally, the data he presents indicated that 80-90% of polytrauma patients are suitable for early total care (ETC) but that it is an evolving concept and should be applied with caution.
