Instructions for Use

ACTICOAT Moisture App 1

 Step 1

  • Where required, wound cleasing should be performed according to local clinical protocol using sterile water only.
  • Choose a dressing that is larger than the wound.
  • Remove the ACTICOAT Moisture Control dressing from the pack using aseptic technique.

ACTICOAT Moisture App 2

  Step 2

  • Cut to shape as necessary for awkward areas.
  • The dressing does not require moistening prior to use as it is indicated for use on exuding wounds.
  • Place the silver layer (dark side) in intimate contact with the wound bed with the blue side facing upwards, ensuring the entire surface of the wound is covered.

ACTICOAT Moisture App 3

Step 3

  • Secure with an appropriate secondary retention for example tape.

ACTICOAT Moisture App 4

Step 4

  • ACTICOAT Moisture Control may be used under compression bandages.
  • The dressing may be left in place up to 7 days, but will require earlier changing if a strike through of exudate occurs within 2 centimetres of the border.
  • If dressing is not easily removed, moisten or soak to assist removal and avoid disruption of the wound.

Note: ACTICOAT Moisture Control may cause transient discoloration of the surronding skin.
